Board Game Resources

Just like any other hobby or interest there are different resources available for different things, and board gaming is no different. We have compiled a small list of resources we use regularly for various reasons.

Board Gaming Info

boardgamegeek.com
The go to spot for all things board games. User reviews, rules clarifications, game information, photos, downloads, community forums etc. If you create an account you can even manage your board game collection.

boardgameoracle.com
This is where you can compare prices of board games at various retailers.

boardgamearena.com
This is an online portal where you can play board games with others over the internet. The best thing about it, is that it is asynchronus (you don’t have to play at the same time), so you can fit in a quick turn here or there throughout the day or week. You can also play real-time with others. There is a free and paid option.

aftergame.app
Aftergame is a fairly new board gaming event app. This allows you to schedule a game and invite others to play in-person. It also has a collection management feature where you can share between friends.

Board Game Rules

Youtube
There are 1000s of different channels that have playthroughs, reviews, and how to play videos. Simply doing a search like ‘how to play X’, ‘board game review x’, or ‘X playthrough’ will often times give you plenty of results to choose from. Although there is an off chance that if you’re not playing a well known game that said things will be found.

Digital Rulebooks
Most designers / publishers of games will make their rulebooks available as free downloads on their sites. These can be great if you just want to reference something and you don’t want to dig out the game to read the physical book. Or if you’re interested in said game and want to learn how to play it to see if you might enjoy it before buying it.
